Georgie Taylor

Returning to the Redlands Ukulele Festival in 2015 is emerging solo artist/ukulele player/musician, Georgie Taylor. Although only 13, Georgie has achieved a lot in a short time since her musical career began in the later years of primary school where she discovered her voice, falling in love with solo vocal performance, musical theatre and the wonderful string instruments – the ukulele and guitar.

In her solo performances on the ukulele, Georgie likes to play contemporary music, putting a modern twist on ukulele performance. As a youthful 13 year old, she brings together a magical union of musical talent and pure voice to provide her audiences with a captivating and exuberant performance that only a young person can give. Georgie is the youngest member of the Dukes of Uke Group and enjoys playing and performing with them when she can at Redland City events and festivals.
In 2014 Georgie’s musical career started to take off. As well as performing regularly, she won a number of prestigious awards including the 1st place in the Junior Categories of the Music Teachers Association of Queensland and Redfest vocal competitions.
As a local Redland student in Year 9 at Carmel College, she is into everything musical, being involved in school choirs, music and drama productions and enjoying opportunities to performing solo when she can at school arts showcases and community events.
